| A thirty-four-year-old man, who was a recovering alcoholic, presented with a gradual onset of left groin pain that was exacerbated by increased activity levels. The patient had a history of drinking twenty-five to thirty beers a week. His medical history revealed a diagnosis of asthma for which he had been placed on prednisone (15 mg/day) for two years. His asthmatic symptoms improved and he then had a two-year interval without corticosteroid therapy. With the onset of his current symptoms, a plain radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging examination of his right hip joint was performed. | ||||||||||
