Abstract

Continuous hyperextension and longitudinal traction may be maintained after reduction of a fracture-dislocation of the cervical spine by the application of a plaster jacket with a head piece and by wedging with turnbuckles. This method is efficacious in the prevention of recurrences as well as in the reduction of certain fractures.
