Abstract

1. A careful study of twenty cases of Legg-Perthes disease presents no evidence that this condition is due to hypothyroidism.

2. It is doubtful that all types of osteochondritis juvenilis are manifestations of the same pathological process and are due to one and the same cause.

3. Difficulties in diagnosis of mild or borderline cases of hypothyroidism should be recognized, and particularly so in relation to other endocrine deficiencies.
