Abstract

1. Closed casts made of gray deodorizing plaster bandages with an overlay of conventional white plaster bandages effectively eliminate the odor associated with the closed-cast technique.

2. The deodorization is efficiently accomplished by physical adsorption of odor, rather than by chemical destruction. In distinction to most other techniques, this does not interfere with the surgical management of the case.
