Abstract

A study of the development of the tendinous apparatus of the fingers in foetal hands at various stages showed a definite pattern of fibers connecting the dorsal apparatus with the metacarpophalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joints. The connection has an important bearing on the function of the fingers, and must be considered in surgical reconstruction in these areas.
