Abstract

A case of compression of the subclavian vessels due to fracture of a clavicle is reported, and the pertinent literature is reviewed. Treatment by resection of the first rib, as described, gave a satisfactory result. The advantages and disadvantages of partial excision of the first rib versus clavicle are discussed.
