Abstract

Osteotomy of the spine has proved to be a very satisfactory procedure. Observations on indications, contra-indications, procedure, complications, and results are reported.

The need for continued postoperative observation and adequate support for at least a year after operation to prevent loss of correction is stressed. Careful attention to selection of cases and attention to details both operative and postoperative will usually give satisfactory results.
