2. The surgical technique must be exact and the rehabilitation graded to the individual patient, with careful supervision of weight-bearing, particularly in the early stages.
3. When complications arise, further reconstructive measures can be carried out along anatomical lines, with a wide choice of procedures. The incidence of such complications is low, as is the operative mortality.
