Abstract

Orthopaedists must realize that repair of motor faults also involves consideration of physiological and psychological effects. Thus, a broad approach should be taken to what may seem to be simply a mechanical problem. Improvement of performance and skill produces a muscle balance that becomes a source of pleasure in accomplishment that was not possible previously when motor activities were imperfect or absent.
