Abstract

1. 206 upper-arm block procedures were performed with a failure rate of 20 per cent.

2. Although the efficiency and reliability of upper-arm block anesthesia are sometimes disappointing, its safety recommends it strongly.

3. Even in the failures, the need for supplemental anesthesia was markedly decreased.
