The use of intra-articular amphotericin B in the treatment of coccidioidal synovitis of the knee joint is described. An excellent result was achieved by using this therapy in the case of coccidioidal synovitis of the knee joint. Though laboratory evidence supported the diagnosis of disseminated coccidioidomycosis, clinical infections was confined to the knee joint, and the systemic infections was non-progressive. The coccidioidal synovitis responded rapidly with apparent arrest of the infection. Recurrence has not been noted during a two-year period of observation.
