Abstract

The blood flow-pressure relationship in the nutrient artery of the canine tibia was measured in twelve dogs. At a mean blood pressure, the flow rate through this artery was estimated to be 1.2 ± 0.2 milliliters per minute in average. Intraosseous arteries and veins were visualized in sequence by the injection of contrast material through the nutrient artery at the estimated normal blood-flow rate.
