Abstract

In eight of ten laboratory dissections of the human hand, a definitive tunnel for the passage of the thenar nerve was observed and measured in the transverse carpal ligament near its distal margin. The presence of a cellulo-adipose covering about the thenar nerve was observed from its origin in the median nerve to and within the tunnel through the transverse carpal ligament.
