Abstract

Forty-five high tibial osteotomies, with Gariépy's closing wedge technique, are reported. Of thirty-six knees followed for a year or more twenty-six had good results, five had fair results, and five had poor results.

The importance of accurate correction of the deformity is emphasized. It is pointed out that the closing wedge technique lends itself particularly well to accurate correction of the deformity.
