1. A case of primary intramuscular hydatidosis of the sartorius is reported.
2. Primary intramuscular hydatidosis does not usually become disseminated.
3. Cassoni and Ghedini tests are usually negative in primary intramuscular hydatidosis.
4. Because of the encapsulation that usually takes place in the intramuscular disease, the chance of cure is likely but can only be obtained surgically.
