A case of severe lumbar lordosis, caused by repeated lumbopenitoneal shunts, is presented with surgical correction of the deformity by anterior wedge resection of vertebral bodies and discs, and spine fusion. The possibility of the development of severe lumbar lordosis secondary to surgical exposure of the lumbar vertebra during a lumboperitoneal shunt procedure is suggested as the etiological factor. Alternatives to this shunt procedure should be utilized if possible.
