Abstract

In thirteen children with osteogenesis imperfecta, 129 operations were done, starting at ages eleven months to ten years. All but two of the patients ultimately were able to walk, nine of them with braces, two without. The operations were instrumental in preventing fractures to a degree, but none of the patients were followed long enough to determine what level of activity was achieved by the procedures.
