Abstract

This unusual etiological agent for osteomyelitis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, seems to have a predilection for children and puncture wounds in the foot, as shown in the cases reported. All infections responded well to surgery and one of several antibiotics, but permanent damage to involved joints was the rule.
