United Kingdom.Patients: 50 patients (mean age 62 yr, 70% women) with a femoral
neck fracture. Exclusion criteria were confusion, bleeding diathesis or
receipt of warfarin, local or systemic infection, and previous
hypersensitivity to local anesthetics. Follow-up was
complete.
