CME
All CME activities consist of four elements:
  • Reading the Journal with sufficient thoroughness to understand the major conclusions presented in each scientific article, and certain review articles
  • Passing an examination to evaluate the thoroughness of your understanding of the Journal's contents
  • Reviewing the post-examination explanations of the preferred answers
  • Completing the evaluation form
Vouchers

The charge for the Online Quarterly CME is $65 per quarter (10 vouchers), or $240 per year (40 vouchers). The charge for each Subspecialty CME Activity is $26 (4 vouchers). Vouchers for CME activities must be purchased prior to claiming credit for any CME Activity.

Accreditation Statement

These activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons designates this enduring material for a maximum of 10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the quarterly exam and a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for each subspecialty exam. Physicians should only claim AMA PRA credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Each Quarterly CME Activity is an interactive educational experience of 50 questions based on topics covered in the previous 3 months' issues of The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. Participants may claim up to 10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for successfully completing each individual activity. You must achieve 50% of the correct answers to pass this activity. You may claim CME credit for successful completion of a quarterly activity for a period of three and one half months from the date of publication. After that time, the activity will remain online for the purpose of review only.

Participants may claim up to 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for successfully completing each individual activity. You must achieve 60% of the correct answers to pass this activity. You may claim CME credit for successful completion of a subspecialty activity for a period of one year from the date of publication. After that time, the activity will remain online for the purpose of review only.
